A woman faces charges after a drug search in Halifax. 

Shortly after 6 p.m. on October 18, officers assigned to the HRP/RCMP Integrated Drug Unit executed a search warrant at a residence in the 5400 block of Uniacke Street. Officers seized a quantity of hydromorphone, marijuana, cash, drug paraphernalia and illegal cigarettes. 

A 40-year-old Halifax woman was arrested at the scene without incident. She faces charges of possession of drugs and possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking. She was released from custody and will appear in Halifax Provincial Court on November 12. Additional charges are anticipated. 

Drug activity often involves violence that puts innocent citizens at risk and is detrimental to the overall safety of our communities. The HRP/RCMP Integrated Drug Unit investigates complaints and targets people involved in the purchase and sale of drugs. Citizens are encouraged to report drug activity to police at 490-5020.
