(4:10 p.m.)A man faces a drug-related charge as a result of a search this afternoon in Halifax.

Yesterday, at 10:30 p.m., patrol officers attended a residence in the 0-100 block of Coronation Avenue for an unrelated matter and noted a strong smell of marijuana emitting from the property. The property was secured overnight and a search warrant was executed this afternoon by officers assigned to the HRP/RCMP Integrated Drug Unit. Officers seized a quantity of marijuana plants and cultivation equipment.

A 41-year-old Halifax man was arrested at the scene without incident. He faces a charge of cultivation of cannabis. He was released from custody and will appear in Halifax Provincial Court on July 23.
