Drug search leads to charges

A man and woman face charges as a result of a drug search in Halifax last night. 

At 8:05 p.m. on February 1, officers from the Guns and Gangs Unit of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division, with the assistance of the West Quick Response Unit, executed a search warrant at a residence in the 100 block of Withrod Drive. As a result of the search, a quantity of cocaine and marihuana were seized along with drug paraphernalia and a number of rounds of ammunition. Officers arrested a man and woman during the search without incident.

Thirty-five-year-old Cornell Cota Mitchell and 32-year-old Tracy Lynn Cameron, both from Halifax, were charged with one count each of possession the purpose of trafficking in cocaine and possession for the purpose of trafficking in marihuana. Both are scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial court today.
