Drug and weapons charges

Two men face charges after an arrest yesterday in Dartmouth.

At 7:45 p.m., officers assigned to the East Quick Response Unit observed suspicious activity in the 0-100 block of Primrose Street. As a result of their investigation, officers seized a quantity of crack cocaine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, weapons and cash. Two men, who were in front of a residence at the time of the investigation, were arrested without incident.

A 33-year-old man is charged with two counts each of possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking; possession of crack cocaine; possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and possession of a prohibited weapon. He is currently in police custody and will appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court later today. A 22-year-old man faces one count of possession of a controlled substance. He was released from custody and will appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court at a later date.
