A man faces drug and weapons charges after a search Tuesday night in Dartmouth.

At approximately 11:55 p.m., officers assigned to the HRP/RCMP Integrated Drug Unit conducted a traffic stop in the area of Albro Lake and Windmill Roads. A man was arrested without incident and a search of the truck resulted in the seizure of cannabis resin, cash and a switch blade knife. While officers were conducting the traffic stop, a search of a home on Middle Street was executed. Investigators seized cannabis resin, cash, two conducted energy weapons, two brass knuckles, a switch blade knife and drug paraphernalia.

Forty-seven-year-old Paul Emile Roy is charged with drug possession for the purpose of trafficking, unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon in a motor vehicle, carrying a concealed weapon and six counts of possession of a prohibited weapon. He was scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court yesterday.
