Three people face drug and weapons charges as a result of a search Friday night in Dartmouth by the HRP/RCMP Guns and Gangs Team.
At approximately 9:30 p.m., officers assigned to the HRP Emergency Response Team executed a search warrant at an apartment on Symonds Street. The apartment was turned over to members of the HRP/RCMP Guns and Gangs Team who conducted the search and seized crack cocaine, cash, bear spray, two soft body armor vests, gun ammunition, a replica handgun and drug paraphernalia. The East Division Quick Response team arrested five people prior to the search during two separate traffic stops. Three people face charges and the other two were later released without charges.
Two men, aged 19 and 21, and a 17-year-old male youth each face charges of drug possession for the purpose of trafficking as well as a number of weapons related offences. They are scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court at a later date.
