Drug/Weapons Charges

A man and a woman face drugs and weapons charges as a result of a search last night in Dartmouth.

At approximately 10 p.m., officers assigned to the East Quick Response Unit (EQRU) executed a search warrant at an apartment in the 0-100 block of Churchill Court. Investigators seized cocaine, marijuana, prescription pills, two firearms, a crossbow, cash and drug paraphernalia from the residence. A man and a woman were arrested at the scene without incident.

Twenty-two-year-old Jamie Joseph Laffite of Dartmouth was held in custody overnight and is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court today to face three counts of possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking and eight firearms-related offences. The 21-year-old woman faces the same charges and will appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court on April 30.
