The fatal shooting that occurred last evening in Halifax has been ruled a homicide and the victim has been identified as 21-year-old Shakur Oshay Trevez Jefferies of Halifax.

On November 12 at approximately 5 p.m., police received several calls to 911 of shots fired in the vicinity of 610 and 650 Washmill Lake Drive in Halifax. Upon arrival officers located Shakur Jefferies deceased at the scene.

Patrol and ERT members took five males into custody shortly after 5 p.m. last evening and transported them to Police Headquarters for questioning. The autopsy was conducted today and the Medical Examiner has ruled Shakur’s death a homicide. Our thoughts are with Shakur’s family and loved ones.
