Fire Deemed Suspicious/Police Investigating

Fire investigators have determined that the origin of a blaze at a Halifax business earlier this morning was suspicious and the investigation has been turned over to police. Halifax Regional Fire and Emergency and police responded to a fire at Pizzatown restaurant, located at 3045 Robie Street at 1:35 a.m. The blaze was confined to the business unit and was put out by fire crews. The business was extensively damaged but unoccupied at the time. Nearby business units also sustained smoke and water damage.

The investigation has been handed over to the HRP/RCMP Integrated General Investigation Section. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact police at 490-5016, or Crime Stoppers, anonymously, at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
