Foot Pursuit Leads to Drug Charges

A man is facing drug trafficking charges after a short foot pursuit in Halifax yesterday.

Shortly after 4 p.m., officers received information that a man in the area of Harris and Agricola Streets was carrying a firearm. Officers located the man in the area and began to approach him. The man then fled on foot. Officers chased the suspect down several side streets and he was eventually arrested in the 2300 block of Agricola Street. Officers searched the pursuit route and found a quantity of cocaine and marijuana. No firearm was located.

Twenty-one-year-old Level Aaron Carvery of Halifax is charged with two counts of possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking.  He was held in custody and will appear in Halifax Provincial Court today
