Thursday, June 5, 2014 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is pleased to once again offer free swimming lessons and Bronze Medallion, Bronze Cross and junior lifeguard programs at all municipal beaches and the Halifax Common outdoor pool this summer.
Registration is required in order to take part in the classes. Registration for the first two sessions opens at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 11, and will continue until the classes are filled. Registration for the next two sessions will be held in early July.
Residents can register by calling 490-6666. They can also visit any municipally operated community recreation centre in the Halifax region or go online at the Community & Recreation Services “Rec Connect” page. Simply visit www.halifax.ca/rec/ProgramsandActivities.php and click on “Beach” to sign up.
