At approximately 10 p.m. police responded to a report of a collision between a car and a cyclist that occurred near 227 Windmill Road in Dartmouth. The vehicle involved fled the scene prior to police arrival. The cyclist, a 36-year-old man, received minor injuries and was treated by EHS at the scene. The driver and vehicle involved in this incident have not yet been located and the matter remains under investigation.
Update - August 27, 2012 (11:34 a.m.)
Upon further investigation, police have determined that the cyclist shouted at the driver of the vehicle after he believed he was cut off. The collision occurred moments later, during which the passenger got out of the vehicle and threatened the cyclist with a knife before fleeing the scene in the vehicle. Police continue to investigate.
