GO #12-136025 -Assault with a Weapon

At 2:45 a.m. police responded to a report of a man having been stabbed at the rear of a building in the 100 block of Main Street in Dartmouth. The 23-year-old victim was with friends and had become involved in a dispute with an unknown male. An altercation ensued during which the suspect produced a knife. The victim sustained a stab wound to his arm prior to the suspect fleeing towards the Lakecrest Drive area. The suspect is described as a white man, 35-45-years-old, about 5'9", heavy set, with a beard. The victim was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The investigation is ongoing.

Update - September 15, 2012 (5:42 p.m.)

The second involved party, a 38-year-old man, contacted police just before 11 a.m.  Officers attended his residence in Dartmouth. He had sustained multiple injuries. He was transported to hospital with injuries that did not appear to be life threatening. The investigation is continuing. No charges have been laid at this time.
