GO #12-136625 - Motor Vehicle Collision

A motor vehicle collision occurred at the corner of Argyle and Prince Street in Halifax at 4:25 a.m. A Porsche and Chrysler 300 were involved. There were three occupants in the Chrysler 300. One of them, a female in the back seat, had to be freed from the vehicle by the jaws of life. Her injuries did not appear to be life threatening. The other two occupants of the Chrysler were transported to hospital with undetermined injuries. The driver of the Porsche initially fled the scene on foot but was apprehended not far away a short time later by patrol officers with the assistance of witnesses. He is in custody at this time. The investigation is continuing.

Update - September 16, 2012 (9:32 a.m.)

Police have arrested and charged a 34-year-old man from Mississauga, Ontario with impaired driving and failing to remain at the scene of an accident. The accused has been released from custody and is schedule to appear in court on  October 31, 2012.
