At 9:36 p.m. police received a report of an attempted robbery that occurred in the 1600 block of Chestnut Street in Halifax. A 25-year-old man was walking in the area when he was approached by a man who demanded his belongings. The victim observed that the suspect had a knife and fled to a doorstep of a nearby house. He didn't give any property to the suspect who fled the area on foot. The victim wasn't injured during the incident. Officers and a K-9 unit checked the area but didn't locate the suspect. The suspect is described as a white man, 20 to 25-years-old, slim build, 5’11" with reddish hair. At the time of the incident he was wearing a red hoodie and had a dark colored scarf covering his face. The matter remains under investigation.
