On September 27 at approximately 12:30 a.m., officers responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a car and a bicyclist that occurred at the intersection of Spring Garden Road and Queen Street in Halifax. The 24-year-old bicyclist involved was taken to the QE2 for treatment for non-life threatening injuries. It was determined during the course of the investigation that the driver of the car, a 22-year-old woman from the Timberlea area was operating the vehicle while impaired. This individual will now face charges of impaired driving and failing the breathalyzer and will appear in Halifax Provincial Court on October 31.
