At 9:30 p.m., police responded to a robbery in progress at the Cogswell Ramp near Barrington Street in Halifax. A 66-year-old woman was knocked to the ground and had her purse stolen by another woman. Officers responded quickly to the scene and members of the Central Division Quick Response Unit located a suspect hiding under the Cogswell Street overpass. A 33-year-old Halifax woman will appear in Halifax Provincial Court tomorrow morning to face robbery charges. The victim wasn't injured during the incident and her purse with all of the contents was returned to her.
