At 3 p.m., police responded the Halifax Shopping Center to a report of a youth threatening a construction worker with a knife. A 30-year-old man reported that a group of youths were causing a disturbance near one of the entrances. One of the youths approached the victim with a knife and threatened to stab him. Mall security intervened and detained three youths until police arrived. The victim was not injured during this incident. A 15-year-old male youth was identified as the suspect with the knife. He was arrested without incident and charged with assault with a weapon, breach of probation and breach of an undertaking. He will appear in court later today.
