At approximately 8:50 p.m., police responded to a motor vehicle accident where a pedestrian had been struck and seriously injured. The accident occurred on Barrington Street in the south bound lane approximately 16 meters from the cross walk at Barrington and Cornwallis Streets. According to witnesses, the pedestrian was crossing Barrington Street from east to west and was not in the crosswalk. He was narrowly missed by one vehicle and then he was struck by a second vehicle. The 28-year-old man was taken to the QE2 Hospital and remains there with injuries described as very serious. Charges are not anticipated in this incident.
