At 1:45 a.m., police assisted Halifax Regional Fire and Emergency with a fire at a business at 1225 Bedford Highway. The building was unoccupied and the fire was eventually extinguished. The cause of the fire isn't known at this time. The Bedford Highway between Meadowlark Drive and Sullivans Hill Road was shut down for a period of time.
