Shortly after 4:30 a.m., police received a 9-1-1 call to an address on Lakecrest Drive in Dartmouth. The homeowner advised that a man carrying a gun had broken into his house. The homeowner fought with the suspect and was able to get the firearm from him. The suspect fled the area on foot. There were no injuries during the incident. Responding officers located another male suspect in a vehicle and he was taken into custody. At approximately 3 p.m., the suspect who had broken into the home was taken into custody without incident. The incident remains under investigation and both men face numerous charges. At this time, this doesn't appear to be a random act as the suspects and victim are known to each other.
