At approximately 6:15 p.m., police responded to an injury motor vehicle accident that occurred on the Highway 111 between Mount Hope Avenue and Portland Street. Witnesses to the accident stated that a vehicle travelling in the wrong direction in the south bound lane of Highway 111 collided with two other cars. The 77-year-old female driver of the vehicle travelling in the wrong direction was taken to hospital with serious injuries. The three occupants in the other two cars involved in the collision were treated by EHS at the scene and released. The highway was shut down from 6:15 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. while the HRP Accident Investigation Team conducted their investigation. No charges have been laid at this time and the matter remains under investigation.
