At approximately 2 a.m., officers were on foot in the Portland Street area of Dartmouth searching for a missing youth. Officers heard a loud crash and upon investigation found that an unoccupied patrol vehicle that had its emergency equipment on had been rear ended. The suspect vehicle had fled the area but was observed by EHS paramedics also engaged in the missing persons call. A short time later, the suspect and his damaged vehicle were located at the Tim Hortons parking lot at 205 Portland Street. Arrested at the scene was a 28-year-old male from the Hubbards area. He will be facing charges of impaired driving and fleeing the scene of an accident
