At approximately 9:55 p.m., officers responded to the Halifax Chrysler Dodge dealership located at 12 Lakelands Boulevard in Halifax in response to a theft of motor vehicle in progress. Prior to police arrival at the scene, an off-duty officer observed two men acting suspiciously in the area. He reported the situation to police dispatch, followed the subjects and guided responding police units to their hiding location. A subsequent search of the area by members of the K9 Unit located a bag containing break and enter tools.
Two men from the Kentville area, aged 40 and 41 years, will appear in Halifax Provincial Court on Monday, January 9. They face charges of attempted theft of a motor vehicle, mischief and possession of break and enter tools.
