At approximately 2:25 a.m., officers responded to a disturbance call in the parking lot of 14 Highfield Park Drive in Dartmouth. According to witnesses at the scene, a verbal dispute between two men turned in to a physical altercation. During this altercation, one of the men produced a knife and began stabbing the other man. Officers were able to respond to the scene quickly and the suspect was immediately take into custody and the weapon was recovered. A 23-year-old man will appear in court on March 19 to face attempted murder, aggravated assault and possession of a weapons dangerous to the public. A 47-year-old man was taken to hospital with numerous stab wounds that are believed to be serious but not life threatening.
