At 11 p.m., police responded to the intersection of Jackson Road and Victoria Road in Dartmouth to a report of an agitated woman carrying two knives who was attempting to stop traffic. At 11:10 p.m., staff from a business on Albro Lake Road reported that a woman was inside the business demanding free food. Responding officers located the woman inside the business. The woman began to approach the officers with a steak knife in each hand. She didn't respond to verbal commands and was eventually struck with a conductive energy weapon (CEW) causing her to drop her weapons. A 43-year-old woman was arrested and taken to Dartmouth General Hospital for a medical assessment. She will faces charges of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, assault with a weapon, theft and possession of stolen property under $5,000. No one was injured during the incident.
