At approximately 7 p.m. on Sunday, April 1, officers responded to a residence in the Sambro area of Halifax to a dispute in progress call. Upon police arrival, a man armed with a weapon exited his residence and then immediately returned inside. No threats were made. Additional police units responded to the area and the scene was contained. It was determined that the man had left the home, as contact with him could not be made. The man was taken into custody across the street without incident a few hours later. The man faces weapons related charges and is expected to appear in court on Monday, April 2. The Emergency Response Team and HRP Negotiators were deployed for this police call.
