At approximately 10:40 p.m., officers responded to a call that a man had been shot in the 0-100 block of Dakin Drive in Halifax. The victim and several suspects, who are believed to be known to one another, were involved in an altercation in the area of Dakin Drive and Bedford Highway. The suspects then chased the victim to an address on Dakin Drive. As the victim was closing the door to the house, one of the suspects fired a gunshot through the window of the door. The 27-year-old victim sustained a gunshot wound to his upper torso. He was taken to hospital with injuries considered to be serious but not life threatening. There were numerous other people in the house at the time of the incident but no one else was injured. The suspects fled the area in a vehicle.

At approximately midnight, one of the suspects, an 18-year-old man, was arrested without incident at an address on Dawn Street in Halifax. At this time the man is still in custody and the investigation is continuing. The specific charges against him have not yet been determined.
