At 1:25 p.m., police responded to a report of shots being fired in the 0 -50 block of Titus Street in Halifax. Upon arrival, officers located a 41-year-old male victim with a gun shot wound to his leg in a business on Titus Street. He was transported to the hospital with non life threatening injuries. Several witness who were inside the business and neighbouring businesses heard three to four shots fired and then observed a number of people running from the location. The suspects were decribed as two black males and one black female. They were followed by another black male. The suspects possibly fled the area in a silver car. At 2:03 p.m., a traffic stop was conducted on a silver vehicle on Alderney Drive in Dartmouth. Three people were taken into police custody for questioning. At 3:17 p.m., a second male with a gun shot wound believed related to this shooting arrived at the hospital. The incident remains under investigation by the Integrated HRP/RCMP General Investigative Unit.

Update - April 14, 2012 (5:21 p.m.)

The investigation into this afternoon's shooting at the Titus Street business is in the initial stages, however, at this point we believe that the victim who arrived at hospital was the intended target. The 41-year-old victim who was found at the scene is believed to be an innocent bystander who was not an intended target.
