At 4:30 p.m., HRP responded to a motor vehicle collision on Highway 118 near Exit 12A. An 18 wheeler dump truck carrying a load of gravel was inbound on Highway 118 when the male driver lost control of the truck which swerved and knocked down several light standards. The truck then veered across the highway and struck an outbound vehicle before crashing into the concrete median. The driver of the truck was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The female driver in the other vehicle was not injured. This matter remains under investigation.
