On October 29 at approximately 6 p.m., members of the Halifax Regional Police Quick Response Unit attempted to conduct a traffic stop in the area of Bayers Road and Connaught Avenue in Halifax. The driver of the vehicle would not pull over for police and a brief pursuit ensued. Officers followed the suspect vehicle to a dead end street. The driver exited the vehicle and took off on foot. He was observed throwing an item into a storm drain. Officers apprehended the suspect and located money as well as a quantity of cocaine and crack cocaine in the storm drain.  The driver was held for court in the morning and faces charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking, fleeing from police and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.
