November 5, 2012, shortly after 9 p.m., members of the Central Division Quick Response Unit observed a 17-year-old male youth on Uniacke Street near Breen Street who was wanted by HRP in relation to drug trafficking. Officers attempted to arrest the youth and a brief foot pursuit ensued. As the officers caught the youth from behind, he reached under the front of his clothing and threw to the ground what turned out to be a loaded handgun. He was taken into custody without further incident and the gun was safely recovered by the officers. The youth will appear in court today facing Cocaine Trafficking charges, numerous firearms related charges, and charges of Breaching Probation
