A 21-year-old woman was walking on Agricola Street between West Street and Cunard Street between 1:50 a.m. and 2:05 a.m. As she was walking, a man standing on the sidewalk called out to her that he would telephone a taxi for her. As she approached this man, he grabbed her, pushed her up against the wall of a building and sexually assaulted her. The woman was able to break free from the man and run away. She made her way home and then attended the QE2 hospital where she was treated and released. The suspect is described as a white man, approximately 24-years-old, 5’10", with medium length light brown hair and scruffy facial hair, and wearing jeans and a black jacket. This incident is currently under investigation by the HRP/RCMP Integrated Sexual Assault Investigative Team. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact police at 490-5020.
