At 4:45 a.m., police responded to the 1500 block of South Park Street to a report of a break and enter in progress. Three occupants of an apartment, two 21-year-old women and a 20-year-old man, reported observing a heavy set white man in his 40`s standing inside their kitchen holding a knife. He didn't say anything or cause them physical harm. The occupants ran back into a bedroom and contacted the police as the suspect fled the scene. Officers arrived within minutes and located the weapon. As a result of evidence collected at the scene and the description of the suspect, investigators arrested a 42-year-old Halifax man without incident near the scene. He is currently being held in police custody and will be interviewed by investigators. He is charged with one count of break and enter and one count of possession of a weapon dangerous to the public
