At 11 p.m., police responded to an apartment in the 2300 block of Gottingen Street to a report of a break and enter in-progress. The female tenant reported hearing someone inside her apartment and observed a man leaving with her laptop. She provided a detailed description of the suspect to the responding members. At 11:30 p.m., patrol officers and members of the Quick Response unit observed a man known to them matching the description in the area. The man was arrested and the victim's laptop was found in his possession. A 42-year-old Halifax man was charged with break and enter and breach of a probation order. He was held in police custody and will appear in provincial court in the morning.
