At approximately 10:30 a.m., two 71-year-old women and a 72-year-old man were sitting together at a booth at the McDonald’s on Nantucket Avenue in Dartmouth. Three younger men entered the restaurant and one of the men sat down near the three older adults. This man then attempted to grab the purse of one of the women. The woman held onto her purse and the older man got up and tried to intervene. The younger man pushed the older man to the ground, and then he and the other two men fled the restaurant on foot. The suspects did not get the purse. The older man sustained a cut to his head from being pushed down and was treated at the scene by EHS. A short time later, all three suspects were arrested and are currently in police custody. Charges against the three, ages 26, 21 and 18, have yet to be determined.
