At 8:40 p.m., members of the Halifax Regional Police responded to an unwanted person complaint in the 0-100 block of Foxwood Terrace in Spryfield. Upon arrival, the male subject of the complaint was located. When questioned by police, he explained to responding officers that the person who resided at the Foxwood address had assaulted several of his family members with bear spray. The follow up investigation confirmed this allegation, specifically that a half an hour earlier, four adults (two man and two women) were parked in a car near 386 Herring Cove Road when a man known to them approached their vehicle and sprayed them through the window with a noxious substance. The four victims were located, then treated and released by EHS. The man responsible for the assault, a 20-year-old man from the Halifax area was taken into custody without incident. He has been charged with assault with a weapon and a breach of a court order. The accused has been held and will appear in Halifax Provincial Court in the morning.
