At 2:14 a.m., a member of the Halifax Regional Police was at an address in the 0-100 block of Galaxy Drive in Dartmouth taking a statement from a party at this location. Upon completion of the statement, the officer returned to his vehicle and discovered that it had been broken into. The interior of the vehicle had been damaged and the officers patrol briefcase had been stolen. Several HRP units, with additional Cole Harbour RCMP support, flooded and contained the area. Within 30 minutes, two suspects were located and detained. When searched, property belonging to the officer was located. K9 attended the scene and conducted a property search that led to the recovery of all of the stolen items. Two men from the Dartmouth area, aged 19 and 22, have been charged with theft, possession and property damage. Both have been held and will appear in Dartmouth Court in the morning.
