At 12 p.m. on April 26 officers responded to a report of a vehicle striking a parked truck in the area of 2100 Gottingen Street. Responding officers observed extensive damage to an unoccupied truck that was parked facing southbound and witnesses indicated that a small vehicle fled the scene and proceeded northbound, turning left onto Cunard Street. At 12:10 p.m .officers located the extensively damaged vehicle involved in this collision at the intersection of Cunard and Creighton Streets and arrested the 30-year-old male driver. In addition to criminal code charges of failing to remain at the scene of an accident and two counts of breaching a recognizance, he faces motor vehicle act charges of driving while license is revoked, operating an unregistered vehicle, operating an uninsured vehicle, driving to the left of the center line and failing to operate a vehicle in a careful and prudent manner. He also had an outstanding warrant of remand. He was not injured in the collision and will be held in police custody.
