At approximately 7:45 p.m. on September 18, police responded to a disturbance call at the Needs convenience store at 70 Lacewood Drive in Halifax involving a man who was bothering a store clerk. Upon police arrival, the man became combative with officers and brandished a knife. Officers subdued him and took him into custody where he is being held for court on Monday on charges of assault with a weapon. One of the officers received minor injuries during the incident that did not require medical treatment.
