GO #15-150276 - Assault with a Weapon

At approximately 3:50 p.m. on October 21, Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of an altercation in the area of Brunswick Street and Artz Street in Halifax. The 46-year-old male victim in this matter was located by police upon their arrival, however, the suspect had fled. Officers were able to determine from witnesses in the area that the victim had been struck with a blunt object during the altercation and had sustained serious injuries. The victim was treated at the scene and transported to hospital by Emergency Health Services paramedics with what are believed to be life-threatening injuries. The incident remains under investigation by the Integrated Criminal Investigations Division. Investigators are looking to speak with anyone who may have any knowledge of this incident and ask that they contact Halifax Regional Police at 902-490-5020.
