At approximately 6:50 p.m. on October 23, Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of a motor vehicle/motorcycle collision at Quinpool Road and Monastery Lane in Halifax. A motorcycle was travelling Westbound on Quinpool Road approaching Monastery Lane in the curb lane. A van in the inside lane, also travelling westbound, stopped to allow a taxi that was travelling eastbound on Quinpool Road to turn left onto Monastery Lane. The taxi turned left in front of the motorcycle, which was unable to stop in time resulting in the collision in the intersection. The 25-year-old male motorcycle rider was taken to hospital by paramedics with non-life threatening injuries. The 39-year-old male driver of the taxi was issued a Summary Offence Ticket for failing to yield when making a left-hand turn contrary to section 122 (4) of the Motor Vehicle Act.
