On November 15 at 5:30 a.m., officers responded to Main Avenue and Titus Street for a report of a taxi driver who had been robbed at knifepoint. The suspect produced a knife, demanded the driver's wallet and cash, and then attempted to stab the driver who suffered a cut to one of his hands. The suspect fled the vehicle with an undisclosed amount of cash. A short time later, officers arrested the suspect near the scene and seized a quantity of cash. A search warrant was obtained for the suspect's residence and officers seized several articles of clothing as well as a knife during the search. A 38-year-old Halifax man will attend court on Monday to face charges of robbery, assault with a weapon and assault causing bodily harm.
