Update

At approximately 6:50 p.m., Halifax Regional Police re-opened Highway 111 in both directions. This collision involved two vehicles in the northbound lane of Highway 111. One of the involved vehicles had been travelling southbound in the northbound lane resulting in a head on collision near Exit 6. The drivers of both vehicles were attended to by EHS paramedics and it was determined that there were no injuries stemming from this collision, therefore no one was transported to hospital. The 61-year-old female driver of the vehicle that had been travelling in the wrong direction was issued a seven-day driving suspension after officers received the results of an approved roadside screening device for alcohol consumption. She was also issued a Summary Offence Ticket for driving a motor vehicle on the wrong side of the highway.
