At approximately 2:20 a.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to the area of Bella Vista Drive and Spring Avenue in Dartmouth in relation to reports of shots fired in the area. Several patrol members responded to the area but were unable to locate evidence associated with a shooting due to darkness. Early this morning, HRP patrol members re-attended the area for a daylight search and located evidence consistent with a shooting having occurred in the 200 block of Spring Avenue. Spring Avenue is currently closed to traffic between Ellenvale Avenue and Dorthea Drive as HRP continues to investigate. HRP Forensic Identification Section members and Integrated General Investigation Section members are assisting with this ongoing investigation. There have been no reports of injuries from this incident at this time.
