At approximately 7:15 p.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to reports of gun shots being heard in the 5000 block of Drummond Court in Halifax. Additional calls were received from members of the public who provided a description of a vehicle that was seen fleeing from the area shortly after the shots were heard. The vehicle is described as a white Hyundai hatchback with one or more of the windows smashed out. Several HRP vehicles attended the area and located a vehicle matching the description in the area of Gottingen and Charles Streets in Halifax. The driver, a 20-year-old Halifax man, was suffering from gunshot wounds. He was attended to by HRP and EHS paramedics  who transported him to hospital with what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries at this time. The investigation is in the preliminary stages. Members of HRP patrol, Forensic Identification Section, Integrated Criminal Investigation Division,  Emergency Response Team and an RCMP Police Service Dog are on scene. At this time, Gottingen Street is closed between North Street and Uniacke Street as HRP Forensic Identification Section members process the vehicle. We anticipate Gottingen Street to reopen within the hour.

The investigation will be conducted by members of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division. There have not been any arrests at this time, however, investigators are seeking two suspects described as:

1) A black male, approximately 5'10”, wearing blue jeans, a long sleeved black shirt and black hood facemask.

2) A light complected black male, wearing blue jeans and a hooded jacket with gray trim. No mask or gloves.
