Shortly before 3 a.m. officers responded to a call of sexual assault in the 5400 block of Spring Garden Road. A lone female was walking in the area and was being followed closely by a man not known to her. When she turned, she saw the man masturbating and he immediately lunged at her sexually assaulting her over her clothing. The woman yelled and the man ran off.
Officers arrived, spoke to the complainant and searched the area for the man as part of their investigation. The officers located the 29-year-old New Brunswick man nearby; and he was arrested after a foot pursuit behind the same Provincial Court house he will be appearing in on Tuesday to face charges of sexual assault.
