At 1:15 a.m. on November 17 members of West Division Patrol responded to an alarm call at JL Ilsley High School located at 38 Sylvia Avenue, Halifax. Upon arrival at the scene, the officers located an insecure door. As a result, containment was immediately set up around the building. The first responding officers located a bike near the door and believed a suspect may have been inside the school. As they entered to search the building, a suspect bolted from another door and was immediately taken into custody by containment officers. A 17-year-old male youth from the Dartmouth area will be facing break/enter and theft charges. He is being held and will appear in Halifax Youth Court on Monday, November 18.
