GO#13-167235 - Police Arrest Man for Break & Enter into Private School

At 8 a.m. on November 17 Halifax Regional Police responded to an alarm call at the Halifax Grammar School located at 5750 Atlantic Street, Halifax. As the officers were enroute to the alarm call, a citizen called to report a suspicious male a short distance away from the school. The citizen followed the suspicious male to Tobin Street where he identified the suspect to the police. The 37-year-old male suspect was taken into custody and when he was searched the officers located a laptop computer under his sweatshirt and determined the computer had been stolen from the school. When officers checked the school, they found an unlocked door. The suspect is being charged with break and enter, possession of break and enter instruments, and breach of probation times three as he is on three separate probation orders. He is being held for Halifax Provincial Court on Monday, November 18.
