At approximately 11:35 a.m. on Friday, July 25 police responded to the intersection of Hollis and Salter Streets regarding a motor vehicle collision where a pedestrian was struck in a marked crosswalk. The female pedestrian was walking east on Salter Street to cross Hollis Street in a marked crosswalk with the overhead crosswalk lights activated. She was struck within the crosswalk by a vehicle turning left off of Hollis Street onto Salter Street. The 29-year-old male driver operating the vehicle stopped immediately, checked on the pedestrian and called police. The driver was issued a ticket for Failing to Yield to a Pedestrian in a Crosswalk. The pedestrian was not injured as a result of the collision.
